Kareena Kapoor Khan is an Indian actress noted for playing a
variety of characters in a range of film genres — from romantic comedies to
crime dramas. She is not only a lifestyle icon, but a successful woman
professional, a health and fitness-conscious individual, and newly a mother. We
recently caught up with her on the sidelines of the launch of the Honeywell Air
Touch A5 and I8 air purifiers in New Delhi, India. She talks about her favorite
place to visit, the problem of indoor air pollution, and how she copes with keeping
her home air clean.
Where in the world is your favorite air?
I think it has to be in Kerala, India. It’s so clean and green, almost magical. I love going there for its serenity and to escape the bustle of city life.
Do you worry about pollution?
It’s sad but true that we live in a polluted environment. We consume so many unhealthy things thanks to the lifestyle we lead today, especially in cities. We take so much care of what we eat, and the water we drink. Why should everyone not care about the air we breathe?
We commonly think pollution is outdoors. Is there something people should know about pollution at home?
I am very aware of my surroundings and the environment we live in. I was reading about the issue of indoor air pollution and I realize that indoor air can also be polluted. I was surprised because it’s so easy to assume once you are inside your home, that you have shut out the outdoors! But that is not true.
How do you keep your home air clean?
I have the house aired out. Staying in closed environments, especially in air-conditioned environments all day long, is not the healthiest thing to do. I’ve installed the Honeywell Air Touch air purifier in my home and that’s keeping air in my home cleaner than before. It can capture up to 99 percent particulate matter from the air passing through its filter, even that which is invisible to the human eye and can cause damage when we breathe it in. What I like most is that I can monitor air quality in my home from my phone, even when I am away. I feel more secure knowing that my family is at least breathing cleaner air when at home.

What’s your favorite thing to do on weekends?
Work takes up a lot of my time through the week, so I use the weekend to unwind and spend time with my family. I’ve always tried to balance work and family.
Would you recommend the Honeywell Air Touch air purifier to your friends and family this Diwali?
I definitely recommend gifting the Honeywell Air Touch range of air purifiers to your loved ones this Diwali. I have the one in champagne gold and it’s making a huge difference in reducing the risks of indoor air pollution. This festival season, why not bring an air purifier home to start the celebrations!
