Honeywell China received an award for its corporate social responsibility (CSR) practice and competitiveness, outperforming more than 500 corporate competitors across the country.
The award recognizes our series of environmental technologies that support the construction of a “Beautiful China,” such as UOP Callidus’ low nitrogen oxide (NOx) burner, with emissions much lower than the national standard. This and other UOP Callidus innovations help industrial customers meet the requirements of the new environmental regulations, significantly reduce wastes and NOx emissions, and increase energy efficiency to bring economic value, improved plant performance and environmental protection.
The award also recognizes community programs sponsored by Honeywell Hometown Solutions, the company’s corporate citizenship initiative, including:
Streams Actions-Honeywell Safe Drinking Classroom, which has installed water purification equipment and facilities in 10 rural Chinese primary and secondary schools, providing clean hot and cold drinking water for 3,000 teachers and students
- Safe Kids at Home, which teaches children safe practices to prevent serious injuries
- Honeywell Educators at Space Academy, bringing Chinese middle school teachers to the U.S. Space & Rocket Center (USSRC) in Huntsville, Ala.
- Honeywell Leadership Challenge Academy, bringing Chinese high school students to the USSRC each year
- Honeywell Initiative for Science & Engineering, where Nobel Prize winners and Honeywell technologists and recruiters visit China’s top universities
“As a high-tech enterprise deeply rooted in China, Honeywell has been advancing its localization over the years, continuously making contributions to the sustainable development of China’s economy, environment and society,” said Bin Shen, President, Honeywell China.
